Balai Nobat

Located in Alor Setar, this building is located just beside the Balai Besar and across from the Masjid Zahir. The Balai Nobat or The Nobat Hall is a site for storing royal traditional musical instruments such as the nobat, nafiri, drums and gongs. They are only used for royal customaries such as weddings and state functions. Built in 1735, renovations were done periodically to the present design.
